Innovative product design combined with listening to the needs of our customers led to the launch of Needlers revolutionary low-cost washable polyester glove liner
Lightweight liners are worn under vinyl or latex gloves for warmth and to prevent skin irritation. Traditional cotton liners are thrown away after each use because their thin cotton-stocking weave won't withstand repeated washing.system
However, Needlers new polyester glove liners provide a higher quality, lower cost, washable alternative set to become the new industry standard.
After each use, liners are placed in the bar-coded wash bag provided. This is then sealed and can be laundered in the same wash and cycle as other work wear. The gloves are dried, still in the wash bag and delivered, sealed, back to site for re-use.
Bakkavor Group's fresh prepared meals and meal accompaniments supplier, Cucina Cano made a 50% direct cost saving on it's annual liner glove expenditure by switching to the Needlers washable liner system. Cucina Sano was looking for a solution to the contamination associated with traditional cotton liners particularly as the cost of cotton rose sharply in 2010/11.
Working together with suppliers in the Far East and Cucina Sano, Needlers developed and tested a system of washable polyester liners which was then trialled successfully with work-wear laundry experts. Johnson Apparelmaster, Cannon and Sunlight.
Everyone has been delighted with the results. The new system has resulted in real cost savings for Cucina Sano. It's average liner glove case requirements fell from 20 to just 3 cases per month - a direct saving of £500 per month or more.
Although the Needlers liners are 40% more expensive if compared to a single use system, cost benefits are significant in terms of technical efficiency and real savings are quickly made after the first wash as demonstrated below:
